The Bible tells us we are made in His image in Genesis 1:27. The King James says “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” If we are created in His image, why do we think different, act different and look different? No two people are exactly the same. How can this be? How can we know who God designed us to be?
The National Christian Counseling Association has devised a way to answer these questions. Through years of research and hands on counseling, they developed a temperament test called The Arno Profiling System named for Drs. Richard and Phyllis Arno. This test is designed to identify a counselee’s inborn, God-given tendencies which is called temperament. To date,, research has shown a 90% accuracy rate in identifying these inborn tendencies . My personal experience has shown an even higher accuracy rate. Why is this important to all the questions above? The reason is when we know and understand how God designed us, we can then see where we are not “being” as God intended.
What then, stops us from being this person God wants us to be? There are many things such as our environment, our childhood and woundings we have suffered along the way. These things become filters in which everything we say, think or do must pass through. These filters alter our natural way of doing things inside our temperament. Over time, we get further away from whom we truly are designed to be.
After administering the A.P.S test and going through it thoroughly, we can identify the places you are out of sync with your temperament which is our original design. Once this has been identified, we use a combination of the NCCA’s Temperament Therapy and Inner Healing Prayer from the teachings of Elijah House ministries. Because we all arrive at this place in our lives for many many different reasons and circumstances, we invite the Holy Spirit to guides us in your healing. The Bible says in James 5:14-15 “ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”
Here at Calling of the Cross, we are committed to following the Holy Spirit in helping you achieve your healing through the power of the cross and restoring you to your original design.
